The Connection
By Nancy J. Noyes REACH OUT WITH YOUR HEART AND YOUR HANDS It’s through heartfelt connections that you feel safe in that space where emotions bring you overwhelming joy, where fear is faced head on, where rejection propels you to achievements unimaginable, and where grief opens the way to healing. You find connection with the Love of that special someone. You find it in the times you spend sharing with a longtime Friend; or when a stranger with just one word helps you through a difficult situation. It happens when you find it in your heart to forgive. It is the connections you seek and create that enrich your life. It is important to reach out; but, it is the strength, courage and acceptance within that makes the outward connections possible. It is then that Life becomes Living. What would a celebration be without those you care about around you to share the pride and excitement? And who better understands exactly what you are feeling than those closely connected to your life? Who hasn’t experienced those 3:00 a.m. moments in the dead of the night that bring you bolt upright with fear, anxiety, rejection, and loneliness? Do you have that someone you could call who would know the right thing to do: to come over, or just lend a supportive ear? When handed your baby for the first time, you become acutely aware that the miracle is not the birth, but the realization that you already know and are connected to this little person. With hands held to guide your child across a street or down an aisle, that connection is extraordinary. What a special instant of time it is when someone reaches out for your friendship, or counsel, and you feel the connection of being significant or needed. Conversely, when you reach out with heartfelt sincerity, you give others that equal gift.
When your time comes to make your transition, how comforting it would be to have all the loving connections of your life surrounding you. Whether you are past your prime or way too young for the event, Imagine gathering together, laughing one moment and weeping the next. Think what reassurance it would bring to remember those times when you have had more fun than should be allowed as well as the times you huddled together to ward off the sadness that strikes in life’s journey. Connection comes as a result of helping hands, tender words of reassurance, shared memories, and loving arms around you that makes survival possible. Connection is special when one speaks for someone who cannot find his voice, or becomes the legs for one who cannot stand. It should be your greatest hope that, in the end, everyone that has counted in your life will be there to release you to the Source who connects us all as One. In the Oneness, we discover that our views may be different, our lifestyles our own; but the power of love and the freedom of forgiveness connects us with our hearts. Remember... Connected we live in a world full of doubt. Connection is something we can’t live without
